Meer_ASPM is a Government-Representative Senator and CEO of National Wire Service. He previously served as the 27th Prime Minister of Malaysia and other ministerial posts.

Early Career

His journey in politics began as a member of the Parti Demokratik Malaysia (PDM) on 18 April 2021, being elected as a Member of Parliament for Lembah Klang on July 13, 2021 in the 13th Parliament of Malaysia. He also served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs during that period under the second Secret_Intelligence administration.

Political Career

His parliamentary career spanned the 13th, 14th, 16th, and 17th terms, during which he played an active role in shaping national policy through legislative debates and decisions. Meer_ASPM’s political acumen and leadership abilities were further recognized when he was appointed as the Prime Minister of Malaysia during the 15th term.

After his term as Prime Minister, he transitioned to a role as a Senator within PDM, where he served during the 15th, 18th, 19th, and 20th terms. As a Senator, he provided valuable insights and contributed to the legislative process, influencing key decisions in the upper house of Parliament.

Later in his political career, during the 17th and 18th parliamentary terms, Meer_ASPM was appointed as the Minister of Youth and Sports. His tenure in this position was particularly notable for his efforts in organizing the Piala MYS and leading Malaysia to participate in the FIFA World Cup in Indonesia in 2023. His work in revitalizing the national football team, Harimau Malaya, left a lasting impact on the nation's sports landscape.

Avillion Administration

In the 13th parliamentary term, Meer_ASPM was appointed as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs under the leadership of Avillion_F1[1]. This role allowed him to engage directly with international diplomacy, representing Malaysia's interests abroad and contributing to the country’s foreign relations. In the 14th General Elections, he was chosen as the next Secretary-General of the Parti Demokratik Malaysia, and after the beginning of his holding the responsibility on the past term made him trusted to explore other portfolios, led to his appointment as Minister of Home Affairs within the same term. Widely believed to be in the "line of succession" for the chair of the PDM, he succeeded Tun_2405 as the next Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia following his resignation on 14th term. Avillion_F1 said, "Meer has been a great minister since the 13th government and has led the Ministry of Home Affairs with consistency. The Prime Minister also noted that Meer has met specific qualifications such as prior experience, relationships with Malaysians, and so on."[2]

Meer_ASPM, under the Ministry of Home Affairs during 13th term, has introduced the MyFrienders program, aims to support individuals affected by community conflicts, such as relationship issues or bullying, by providing professional counseling and group discussions, with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and promoting mental health.

Meer Administration

Meer_ASPM was appointed as the Prime Minister of Malaysia during the 15th term after Parti Demokratik Malaysia won 18 seats in the 15th General Election. The 15th term presented significant challenges for Meer_ASPM as several issues arose during his administration:

  • On 10th March 2022, eimanpubg63, his Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport and Member of Parliament for Kelantan, was reinstated and cleared of all charges after being blacklisted for asset theft, with the Parti Demokratik Malaysia later confirming his retention as MP due to his clean disciplinary record.[3]
  • On 17th March 2022, Tan Sri PROBLOXALIEN resigned as Minister of Communications and Multimedia due to real-life commitments, and YB Zulk1fli has been appointed as his temporary replacement until a successor is chosen.[4]
  • On 27th March 2022, LucisNoctircus resigned as Minister of Foreign Affairs due to personal commitments, and Datuk Verdictless was appointed as his successor.[5]
  • On 1st April 2022, Zulk1fli resigned as Minister of Finance due to personal commitments, and VerticalLimit was appointed as his successor.[6]
  • On 7th April 2022, Datuk Avillion_F1 resigned as Minister of Defense, and Lindaxy, the former Deputy Minister of Defense, was appointed as his successor.
  • After a series of resignations, on 9th April 2022, Meer_ASPM announced a cabinet reshuffle to the public to ensure that all government portfolios are filled and that the government functions effectively.
  • On 11th April 2022, The Weekly Edition published an article reported that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was displeased with the government[7]. Meer_ASPM responded to it, clarifying that the letter's claims were inaccurate[8]. He detailed the government's stance on issues like support for the Republic of Korea's UNSC P5 bid, fiscal policies, and diplomatic representation, and criticized the publication for making the letter public prematurely. Meer_ASPM promised to address the matters privately with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and urged for responsible media reporting and respect for the monarchy.
  • On 16th April 2022, Keyonpilotcrew resigned from the cabinet, and Datuk Verdictless was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister to assist with government administration.
  • On 7th June 2022, Meer_ASPM dismissed Hugo Walker from his role as Chief Secretary to the Government after Walker issued sudden termination notices to civil servants without consulting the government. He then reversed the termination notices, ensuring the affected civil servants retained their positions.[9]

Prime Minister Meer_ASPM concluded his term by thanking Malaysians for their support on his statement on 12th June 2022[10], reflecting on his experiences and achievements, and expressing hope for a new generation to lead the country.

Media Careers

Alongside his political endeavors, Meer_ASPM had a strong foundation in media and journalism. He initially worked as a journalist and writer for Greny Media, a company founded by Jimmy_boy58, who is now known as MerelyJimmy. Meer eventually took over the company when Jimmy handed it over to him, and he rebranded it as TheNetwork and holds the position of General Director, managing the overall operations and strategic direction of the organization. Under his leadership, TheNetwork became an active player in delivering current news and broadcasting live events, including selected sports events such as Piala MYS and Piala Pendidikan Malaysia.

In July 2023, Meer_ASPM was offered the position of General Director at National Wire Service[11] after the company's administrative officers left. Recognizing an opportunity to consolidate his efforts, Meer decided in early January 2024 to merge TheNetwork into National Wire Service[12], creating a unified media entity. This strategic move allowed him to focus entirely on National Wire Service, where he continues to lead and maintain its active presence in the media industry. The National Union of Journalists appointed Meer_ASPM as their General Secretary, after they announced the revival of the union following a period of inactivity.[13] At the end of 2024, he has been awarded the Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah (S.U.M.W.)[14], bestowing upon him the honorary title "Datuk Seri Utama," as approved by the Yang di-Pertuan Persekutuan and announced for public knowledge.
